چکیده

Objective: Corticosterone treatment in mice impairs mitochondrial function, decreases energy production the brain, and induces depressive-like behaviors. Creatine (Crt) is vital for homeostasis brain. Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) improves function reduces oxidative stress. The aim was investigating effect of Crt ALA following dexamethasone (Dexa) induced depression model despair. Methods: Female (22±3 g) were experimented. Dexa (15 mcg/kg, SC) injected a week, inserted animals’ diet, (25, 50 mg/kg) IP. After locomotor test, behavioral parameters depression, including immobility time during forced swimming test (FST), anhedonia sucrose preference evaluated. Results: There not important changes test. increased FST (154 ± 6.3 s vs control 119±5.5 s, p<0.05). 2 %, reduced (89 7 normal diet 125 4.7 p<0.01), (50 (88 15 134±8 While, co-administration with FST. results line FST, since when administered together Dexa. Conclusion: Improvement treated clearly indicates their on preventing Apart from possible influence mitochondria, modulation neurotransmitter system may be involved antidepressant effects.

Amelioration of docetaxel/cisplatin induced polyneuropathy by α-lipoic acid

Docetaxel (Taxotere; Aventis, Strasbourg, France) is currently considered to be one of the most important anticancer drugs. It is a semi-synthetic agent derived from baccatin III extracted from renewable Taxus baccata needles, which binds to tubulin inducing its polymerization [1]. It inhibits cell replication and leads to apoptosis. Docetaxel has displayed significant antitumor activity agains...
